Who can apply for a residence hall slot?
Residence hall accommodations are exclusively for bona-fide students of the University of the Philippines Diliman.
How do I qualify for a residence hall?
Applicants must satisfy these requirements:

- Academic load of at least 15 units for undergraduate and 6 units for graduate students.
- For re-admission: good behavior in the residence hall — defined as having no violation of the norms of conduct prescribed in residence halls.
For the complete rules, see the 2010 General Guidelines.

Assessment & Ranking
How are applicants assessed?
Based on the 2010 General Guidelines on Accommodation in UP Diliman Residence Halls, applicants are scored on two criteria:
Place of origin — 45%
| Place of origin | Points |
|---|---|
| Visayas and Mindanao | 45 |
| Regions 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 | 40 |
| Rizal and Bulacan | 35 |
| Metro Manila | 30 |
Socialized Tuition (ST) bracket — 55%
| ST bracket | Annual household income | Points |
|---|---|---|
| Brackets E1 and E2 | ₱135,000 and below | 55 |
| Bracket D | ₱135,001 to ₱325,000 | 50 |
| Bracket C | ₱325,001 to ₱650,000 | 45 |
| Bracket B | ₱650,000 to ₱1,300,000 | 40 |
| Bracket A | Over ₱1,300,000 | 35 |
How are applicants ranked?
Applicants are ranked according to their total points and their residence hall preference.
Because the number of slots is limited, not all applicants can be accommodated.
What happens if there is a tie in points?
Income is the basis for breaking the tie. If the applicants are still tied, the General Weighted Average (GWA) is used.
