A. Proof of Income
Will the SLAS bracket assignment suffice as income?
The Student Learning Assistance System (SLAS) was developed by the University of the Philippines to expand financial support for economically disadvantaged students and expedite the processing support for students’ academic activities. The SLAS is an expansion of the Student Financial Assistance Online (SFA Online). The UP designed the SFA Online to accept applications for tuition subsidy and allowance. Beginning on 7 September 2020, UP students may apply directly for financial support and learning assistance through the SLAS Online (slasonline.up.edu.ph). The expanded online SLAS will gather information on students’ financial capacity, internet connectivity situation, and learning assistance requirements to help the University determine the support to be extended to the applicant.

a. With SLAS/ST Certification
If you already have a certification of your SLAS bracket, take a screenshot of the certification and attach to the ST/SLAS Requirement on your application.
b. Without SLAS/ST Bracket
Check your status on the table below.
BOTH parents are engaged in a business, or ONE is handling a business while the other is not employed.

BOTH parents are self-employed

RECEIVING SUPPORT FROM A FAMILY MEMBER WHO IS RETIRED ALREADY

WORKING STUDENT
2023 Income Tax Return (clear -readable copy of all pages) OR certification of employment with stated income
On FULL SCHOLARSHIP
Certification of full scholarship with breakdown of amount and/or
screen shot of your assigned ST bracket with your name and attach in your application.
BOTH parents are RETIRED
Affidavit stating job before retirement AND amount of monthly pension OR copy of pension certificate with amount
SELF-SUPPORTING
Affidavit of self-support, include sources of income to finance education and/or
screen shot of your assigned ST bracket with your name and attach in your application.
BOTH parents are WORKING and DO NOT HAVE ITR OR ANY PROOF OF INCOME
Affidavit stating sources of income to support the education of child.
Affidavit is a written document prepared and signed by a lawyer.
Can I submit a Certificate of Indigency?
We do not encourage submission of Certificate of Indigency, however, in such cases that this is the only document that can be submitted, we will require the parent/s to state the sources of income to support the education of the child.
Can I submit an affidavit issued last year?
Affidavit must be issued within the last six months. Affidavit issued before December 2023 will not be accepted.

B. Grades
Which semester/s should my grades cover for dormitory application?
Grades of the students’ two recently enrolled semesters with General Weighted Average (GWA)
C. Dormitory Clearance (for dormers only)
What is dormitory clearance?
Dormitory Clearance is issued by the Residence Hall Management certifying that the resident does not have any financial accountability.

What happens if the additional requirements were not submitted?
Your dormitory application will not be included in the batchrun.
What covers upperclass category?
Upperclass refers to Undergraduate students taking bachelor’s degrees or associate courses from second to senior years, and graduate students taking Masteral and Doctoral studies including Juris Doctor.
Can I choose the dorm I like?
For this Dormitory Application, the applicant will be given the option to choose from the list of dormitories based on the student category.
Are scanned documents acceptable?
Yes, so long as they are readable.
Can I still be assigned a dormitory slot even though I did not meet the academic load requirement?
Students can apply for a dormitory, however, there is no assurance of a slot since it is dependent on its availability and demand.
My student number starts with 2023, what dorm category should I choose for the 2024-2025 Dormitory Application?
For students with SN 2023, your dorm category is Upperclass since you are on your second year in UP Diliman for AY 2024-2025.
